During the More for Less 2008 Open Space, a number of sessions were run, all addressing issues around the theme “more for less”. Here are the notes, recollections and outputs form the various conversations.

During the Open Space, there is often times when we apply the Law of Mobility (sometimes called the Law of Two Feet) and turn into butterflies. That is we find that we are neither contributing or learning and decide to leave a session and end up having a wonderfully productive chance encounter. This section is an opportunity to document your unplanned, unexpected and productive 'chance' conversations.
Talking with Tony - what is the real cost of sickness/churn??? What drives it? We seesaw between high investment in people to attract and engage and then 'shove' them on the floor and expect them to get on with it. How do we even out the experience and spend…. do we therefore, if invesmtment is limited, better spend money on invesmtment in managers? What do you do to even out the experience for staff at all levels - how do you avoid today's problem of spinning the early experiences and disappointign after? I guess the key for me is seeking out ways to even out the experience from attraction through the first 12 months and beyond……………. ummm something to think about…..
